Monday Morning Blues....

So last week when I went to get the children's GA form so they can start school, immunizations here in GA said the girls needed to redo one shot each. We found out last week but decided not to tell them til this morning since they both freak out.

Well Ryan woke me up and was like bribe them w/ an outfit & ice cream.  I like shopping so why not...LOL  So we wake up the girls and tell them whats going on...whines and cries (okay more like screams) and then once they seen they would get something...it turned into a okay but I am not happy type of tone...so we go there and their system was down and the lady tells me to come back...oh heck no...I don't want to deal with this again so I say give them the shots and I will come back and get the updated form.  She did give me a 30 day extension so no rush now.  Then the lady says Amberlyn doesn't need one, when they filled out the form last week they put the wrong date down so she is okay...well Amberlyn was so wanting a new outfit she was bummed not to get the shot and said she wanted it...oh my.  Then of course Katelyn starts crying because she has to get a shot and Amberlyn don't....that girl is a worry wart like her momma!  So needless to say she cried a little and ran around in a small circle and then finally I calmed her down to sit in the chair and she took the shot like a big girl.  She said it hurt a little but she didn't cry anymore just was mad for about 15 minutes at me.

So me & the girls go to breakfast, shopping, more shopping...  Ryan calls at lunchtime to see how things went and first thing out of his mouth is how bad did I go shopping...gotta love him!  We didn't do too much damage to the bank account but we did have a fun 5 hrs shopping and finished off with lunch at Cold Stone Creamery!  Yep that's right this momma gave the girls ice cream instead of a heathly lunch.  I can at least say with shopping and ice cream, I was on their good side at least for today.

Mid September Updates...

Things are going great with us.  School has been in session for a few weeks and they both love their teachers.  We have started back in our routine with Girl Scouts, Katelyn is a Junior & Amberlyn is a Daisy.  We recently got updated photos of the house (courtesy of Rebecca)....she even got to snap a few through the windows.  I am one lucky lady to have such great friends surrounding me.

Here are some pictures from our trip to the School Playground, we haven't done much lately as in traveling saving up all our moola!  We did visit the Ledyard Fair, one reason was to see the "redneck olympics"...definitely reneck it wasn't even fully planned out.  I did however enjoy watching it towards the end and also enjoyed the tracker pulls.

Our move is all set up, we pack up Oct 15, 16 & 17th...the last day is for them to pick up.  We check out of housing on Oct. 18th and we are set to leave Groton, CT on Oct. 19th.   I think this move has been one of our smoothest ones yet (I am sure I just jinxed myself), although we have hit some kinks but considering we built a house (20 hrs away) and have had to deal with it from afar it has been surprisingly smooth (of course that was with such great friends in GA & FL being able to assist us).

It's going to be bittersweet to leave CT but we are ready for the next chapter.   We will miss friends we have made in CT but I am sure at some point we will all meet up again.  The hard part now which I didn't include above is for me to start packing what we will live on for the next few months (in GA) and set it aside.  I have posted some about it on facebook.  Ryan's orders are for Virginia so the Navy will only move our HHG (House Hold Goods) to Virginia....no we are not moving there.  The HHG will be put in storage until we receive the new orders or Change of Home port certificate.  We have to buy a few things for the house anyhow so instead of spending the excess mileage to ship our HHG to Georgia we decided to buy the things we need and use them until our main HHG arrive.  So what does this mean for those that visit in the next few months??  That means that we will have limited dishes, furniture, clothes and no decorations.  Anyone is still able to visit but remember your sleeping bags!!

This past weekend, I was invited to go out with my friend Tara's FRG to the Drunken Palette.  We were painting a sub on canvas.  At first I was skeptical cause I have no painting talent but it was fun and not as hard as I imagined it to be.  I am very impressed with how it turned out.  Leave it to me to forget my phone so my friend took some photos for me.  Here are the ones taken mid painting and finished product.  I can not wait to go back and also take the kids.  And yes, we started with a blank white canvas!

House Updates - Aug. 2012

We can not believe how fast the house has been built.  We signed the contract in May 2012 and they started building in June 2012.  It is now August and all that is left is: paint, flooring, counter tops, toilets & the outside of the house like concrete & porch.  They say that we should be able to close end of September.  We are asking to close on Oct. 22nd since a 4 day weekend is not enough time for us to enjoy or visit and not to mention we would drive down to close on the house and then drive back down 2 weeks later to move there.  So much driving and so little time.  The "Moore" family can not wait to be in the new house and have visitors!  So this past weekend the girls "picked" their bedrooms, of course they both want the same room but finally Amberlyn caved on our car ride home and said "sissy" can have it.  Thank goodness because I hate to play Katelyn's older and should pick first card.  We finally took Kaylie to the new house on our way back to CT.  I know she doesn't know what's going on but she did roam the home like I LOVE IT!  I can not wait to have a fence up so we can install the doggie door.

Enjoy the updated photos, Marie & Ryan
